Equal access for every visitor, including people with disabilities, matters greatly to us. The site has been reviewed and adapted, as far as possible, in line with Israel’s Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Accessibility Adjustments to Service) Regulations, 2013, and Israeli Standard IS 5568 at level AA (based on WCAG 2.0).
What has been adapted
- Full keyboard navigation, with a clearly visible focus indicator.
- A “Skip to content” link at the top of every page.
- Text alternatives for the artwork images.
- A hierarchical heading structure and support for screen readers.
- Readable colour contrast, layouts that adapt to different screen sizes, and support for text enlargement.
- The device’s “reduce motion” setting is respected.
- Buttons labelled for screen readers (film playback, WhatsApp, language switch).
- An accessibility tool on the site for further adjustments.
Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some parts may not yet be fully accessible. These are the limitations we know of:
- The artwork films are mostly hosted on the site itself, with player controls and no autoplay; a few are embedded from YouTube (a third party). They are wordless art films, and every work has a text description on its own page.
- Quotes are sent as PDF files; on request they can also be sent as plain text.
We keep improving.
