Three moments from his life
New York, 1941Safe Harbor
After fleeing occupied France he sailed from Lisbon with his wife, and in June 1941 they landed in New York. A whole world stayed behind.
Brooklyn, 1942Teaching Anew
His father-in-law, the previous Rebbe, entrusted him with Chabad's educational institutions and its publishing house. Books and lessons for children were the first task in the new land.
Brooklyn, 1951The Seventh Rebbe
A year after his father-in-law passed away, he took on the leadership of the movement and became the seventh Rebbe of Chabad.
